Colonel's Colours - Bandera Coronela

I've found that other pages in the blog can't contain more than one post. So I decided to keep those pages (just Flags for the moment) to show the definitive ones and put them in normal entries until they are selected. First I'll go with Colonel's Colours.

The regimental designation (I Infantry Guards, III Line Infantry, II Light Infantry or the likes) will be inscribed on the scroll in the coat of arms. Also its form is not definitive still.

Finally, the Saint George's Cross (patron Saint to Catalàunia), the Cross has been sported by Catalan troops since medieval times and it's representative of the Catalan government.

Please comment on them, help me to decide. I'm not very keen on the last two as they are very similar to 1st Regiment's Colours. Also, the Cross without any devices, although beautiful, could be less representative as the national coat of arms is not present. Moreover the Cross will figure on each and every battalion (regiment) colour, with varying coloured backgrounds and saltires to denote the regimental facings.

Si us plau comenteu sobre les banderes i ajudeu-me a decidir.

P.S.: Sorry for the alternated translated texts but I did not want to repeat the flags and making the post excessively large.

1 comentari:

  1. Winner was the second one!

The cross for the patron Saint of Catalàunia and as a mark of allegiance to the Catalan government institution which pays for the army.

The Catalan coat of arms for its service and loyalty to the nation beyond anything else. Its presence at the cantons helps keeping this flag distinct to other nation's.

The scroll over the emblem will bear the regimental numerical designation.

Finally, note that Battalion colours won't have crosses on them as standard except for a few units, reserving them as standard to all Colonel's colours.
